- 1st August, London. Evangelisation Training for St Thérèse of Lisieux Venue Volunteers. The Catholic Agency to Support Evangelisation (CASE) is offering a training day in support of volunteers who will be welcoming visitors to their Church or Cathedral during the visit of the relics. The venue holds 70 people and places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. It is hoped that each St Thérèse venue might be able to send two or three representatives who could share the day content on an informal basis with fellow volunteers on their return. Handouts will be provided. The day will run from 11am – 5pm at St Vincent’s (next door to The Passage) in Carlisle Place, Westminster, which is around the corner from Victoria Station. - 16th to 23rd August: The Spirit who Dwells in You, a Week Retreat for Young Adults at Worth Abbey Benedictine Monastery. The week will reflect on the Holy Spirit and its role in our lives, with talks from Benedictine monks of Worth Abbey, and guest speakers including Fr Alistair Jones OP, a Dominican friar, and Michael Woodward, former leader of the Lay Community of St Benedict. The week offers an experience of the Benedictine way of life, and provides a great chance to take a step back from busy lives, strengthen your faith and meet like-minded young people, all in the glorious surroundings of Worth Abbey in Sussex. The week is being hosted by the monastic community and young adults from the Lay Community of St Benedict. - 20th - 26th September, Foyer of Charity Retreat in English, at Tressaint in Brittany, France. Flights from East Midlands and Stansted Airports to Dinard Airport in Brittany vis Ryanair. Preached by Fr David Hartley from Oxford. The theme of the retreat is "The Light shines in the darkness" (and it is based on St Johns Gospel). This is an excellent chance to experience the wonderful spirituality (and hospitality) of the Foyers at first hand. There is no set price for the retreat but the community relies on donations, and a donation of 40 Euros per day (£34) would be apprieciated.
