UPDATE! 8.4.08
The launch date is set: the 19th of July! So we're gearing up for a busy last couple of months finishing things off. The structure of the site has been set, but we're still finalising content which we'll be running by our focus groups in the next few weeks.
I'm about to be thrown in at the deep end with dreamweaver, so I'm hoping I'll take to it like a natural ;-).
Other than, we're busy building up our bank of potential writers - particularly those aged between 10 and 16. I'm looking for people who would share their testimonies, write articles on current affairs, media reviews, even be occassional bloggers! If this interests you, or you know someone it would interest, please download the application pack.
If you'd like to pass on information regarding Yfaith to others who are interested, you can download a flier (it's two A5 fliers on an A4 page).
Any questions or comments or offers of help, please do get in touch with me: emily.davis@caseresources.org.uk. Please also keep this project in your prayers :-).
UPDATE! 7.1.08
Welcome to the first of our ‘Yfaith’ blogs. In the last few months of building the site, I thought some of you might like to track the progress made :-).
At the moment, myself and IMDC (Interactive Media Design Consultants), are making decisions about what programme we build the site with – it will effect how easy it is to update things and how easy it will be to change the look over time. I think we’re kind of there with the decision, so now begins the hard work of actually doing it!!
We’ve had some really helpful feedback from focus groups from various places in the country. One of the best outcomes of those groups was the name ‘Yfaith’…it was suggested by a young man over in Guilford way…and we liked a lot….and other young people seemed to like it…so we’ve gone for it!
‘Yfaith’…..could be short for ‘why faith?’ or ‘young faith’ or ‘youth faith’, ‘yeti faith’, and all sorts of other relevant things ;-). It particularly appeals to me as a question ‘why faith?’ because our aim at CASE would be to help Young Catholics, and other young seekers, to find answers to that question, and to discover how faith can be foundational to their lives.
As these last few months pick up speed…there are lots of ways you can consider getting involved with the Yfaith project. Whether you’re an adult or a ‘tween’, or somewhere in between, we’re looking for writers – people who will provide articles on current topics; movie and music reviews; do interviews that we could feature. Then there’s also a space for people who will hunt for good free images (that’s one of my favourite jobs!); and those who would be prepared to proof read things before they’re published. Finally new focus groups are always welcome…and help with publicity when it gets underway! Ooph…there’s a lot to do!! However, it’s all really exciting. If you want to be part of it, you just let me know :-). You can reach me at: emily.davis@caseresources.org.uk
